We made mini-cakes for each friend and then let them frost and decorate their own cake to take home. The bottoms were cut from a large cake using a measuring cup (1 cup) and the tops were standard-size cupcakes turned upside down. First they frosted....
.... then they decorated...
After a few games, drinks and snacks.....
.... we sang happy birthday and ate cake (my cake inspiration came from here)!
And, before friends left we handed them a thank you gift.... a Christmas ornament made from salt dough (more on that later!).
It was a great birthday weekend for her and I think my kids are still on a sugar high!
Psst, I bought a lot of my party decorations from Sweet Lulu.... the shop is completely adorable (I found it through Pinterest- one more reason to love Pinterest)!
Thanks for including us. And now Mini Mama has very high expectations for her birthday in May. You are therefore now my personal party planner. :) - Love your house, love your family, love you!
ReplyDeletelove the salt dough ornaments...so cute! What a fun party!
ReplyDeleteBravo ! Lovely !
ReplyDeleteI’m impressed, I must say. Really rarely do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. Your idea is outstanding; the issue is something that not enough people are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to this.

Nice post. I learn something more challenging on different blogs everyday. It will always be stimulating to read content from other writers and practice a little something from their store. I’d prefer to use some with the content on my blog whether you don’t mind. Natually I’ll give you a link on your web blog. Thanks for sharing.
