Cake Decorating Birthday Party

This weekend was the start of all the Christmas festivities for us this month, but my favorite part of the weekend was Saturday afternoon..... we celebrated my almost six-year old's birthday with her friends.  She LOVES to bake (or maybe it's more like eating sweets) so she asked for a cake party, a cake decorating party.

We made mini-cakes for each friend and then let them frost and decorate their own cake to take home.  The bottoms were cut from a large cake using a measuring cup (1 cup) and the tops were standard-size cupcakes turned upside down.  First they frosted....

After a few games, drinks and snacks.....

.... we sang happy birthday and ate cake (my cake inspiration came from here)!

And, before friends left we handed them a thank you gift.... a Christmas ornament made from salt dough (more on that later!).

It was a great birthday weekend for her and I think my kids are still on a sugar high!

Psst, I bought a lot of my party decorations from Sweet Lulu.... the shop is completely adorable (I found it through Pinterest- one more reason to love Pinterest)!

  4. Nice post. I learn something more challenging on different blogs everyday. It will always be stimulating to read content from other writers and practice a little something from their store. I’d prefer to use some with the content on my blog whether you don’t mind. Natually I’ll give you a link on your web blog. Thanks for sharing. Best Source Best Source Best Source
