Kristy,
I'm updating my daughter's room now that she's moved into what used to be the guest room. The windows have brown roman shades that I bought a while ago.... the shades are perfect for the windows and I don't want to have to spend more money on new curtains when I have something that works just fine. Could you help me with some ideas on how to incorporate a chocolate brown color into a girl's bedroom. Thanks so much for your help!
Grace

Here's a few inspiration photos of girly bedrooms that incorporate the color brown....
All these rooms are stunning!!! And they all incorporate the color brown! Whether it's brown in a bed frame, a rocker, wooden frames, the nightstand, flooring, an embroidered pillow.... the rooms are full of character and depth. I love these bedrooms.
I, especially, am head over heels for the third photo down (so you don't have to scroll back up, here it is again). I think the brown roman shades that Grace has in her girl's room would work well with something similar to this design. The coral color looks so great combined with the brown.... it moves away from the recent trend of pink and brown and seems more sophisticated, so stylish!
So, to Grace I say.... keep the brown shades!!! Paint the walls a light color to keep the bedroom bright and airy, like a creamy white. Create a gallery of different styled frames, then choose one bold color to offset the brown and paint the dresser and/or nightstand (I really like that coral color), choose printed pillows that will highlight the same bold color, then add some playfulness to the room by making (or buying) colorful pom-poms or a pennant banner. Have fun designing Grace!

** Apologies, I do not have the sources for most of these photos. **
kristy, this room is beautiful! i am loving the bed (well, everything really...) it looks like they used an old door for the back and pallets for the base of the bed and put a mattress on top. i am feeling very inspired right now!!

The next time I read a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I know it was my choice to read, but I actually thought you have something interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could fix if you werent too busy looking for attention.
